Where Accounting Meets AI: Building Technology That Helps Small Businesses See Opportunities

I started AI Accounting Agency in February 2025 after spending more than 20 years working in financial strategy and accounting operations. I have always been interested in finding better ways to make financial information useful to the people running a business, and AI opened up a new way to approach that.

One of the biggest challenges has been figuring out how to take complicated financial and operational processes and turn them into something technology can understand and automate. Commission calculations are a good example because every sales agreement can have its own structure and exceptions that make commissions difficult to calculate manually.

I initially built a solution that could read those contracts, understand the commission terms, and handle the calculations automatically.

That solution has grown into a much bigger product. The vision starts with a signature platform similar to DocuSign that captures the important information when a contract is signed.

AI reads the signed agreement and uses the information captured during the signing process to automate the commission and accounting processes that follow. We plan to integrate with systems like QuickBooks and automate related financial work such as invoices, vendor bills, and paychecks.

The goal is to connect contracts with the financial tasks that come after them.

Building this product has changed how I think about AI. I see an opportunity for AI to find relationships between different parts of a business that people may never think to measure. Those relationships can create new metrics that give an owner a different perspective on their numbers and an edge in their industry.

That is the kind of edge I want to give small business owners. Most people start a business because they have a dream and want to build something that provides for their family. They can work incredibly hard but still have small problems that slow their growth.

I want AI Accounting Agency to help change that experience for American small businesses. Small businesses are a huge part of the US economy, and giving owners better tools can have an impact far beyond their accounting department. When an owner can understand the business from a different perspective, they can make stronger decisions about where to invest their time and resources.

That is what I am building with AI Accounting Agency, technology that gives small business owners a different perspective on their numbers so they can see opportunities that traditional financial reporting normally misses.
